MITSUBISHI has released a limited-edition version of its Pajero, with just 550 examples available, based on the entry-level GLX five-door.

The Pajero Platinum Edition – a limited-edition name used previously by Mitsubishi for its mid-sized SUV wagon – features a number of safety, comfort and styling upgrades.

In addition to the GLX’s standard equipment list, the Platinum Edition offers a reversing camera, front foglights, body-coloured side mirrors, integrated side steps with front mudguards, a rear wind deflector and Platinum Edition signature carpet mats and badging.

On the inside, the Platinum Pajero features Mitsubishi’s Multi Communication System (MMCS) incorporating satellite-navigation and Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity.

The Pajero Platinum Edition five-door is available from October with both 3.8-litre petrol V6 and 3.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engines – priced from $52,290 and $54,290 respectively – mated to either manual or automatic transmissions.

Like all Mitsubishis in Australia, it comes with a five-year/130,000km new-vehicle warranty and 10-year/160,000km non-transferrable drivetrain warranty.
