A milestone in la strada's history was the introduction of the la strada Nova in 2000.

The Nova M features the same layout as its predecessor, with three sleeping places in a longitudinally installed fold-down bed above the seating area and a second single bed across the rear above the garage. At 6.46 meters long, it is ten centimeters longer than its predecessor. This creates more space in the living area. The wheelbase is a maneuverable 3.66 meters. The Nova M comes standard with a gross vehicle weight of 4.1 tons and a generous payload of 920 kilograms. For just two people, a reduced-weight 3.5-ton version with a payload of 320 kilograms is also available on request.

The Nova EB has single beds in the rear and storage cupboards above the seating area in the front. The new "giant" among the la stradas, which is still compact for the luxury class at 6.99 meters long, is based on the 4.33-meter wheelbase of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. With a gross vehicle weight of 4.1 tons, there is a payload reserve of 710 kilograms – plenty for a two-person layout.
